I prefer not to put politics into my art, mostly because I find art to be a refuge from the world, a place where I can bask and relax.
Sometimes though, the world intrudes no matter what I may want to do to stop it or hide from it. Such is the case today, as I follow the story of five black churches burned around Ferguson. I am not a church goer myself, nor does religion particularly appeal to me – but this sort of atrocity is simply terrible. The individual or group responsible for this is cowardly and vile, and I hope whoever it is will be swiftly caught and punished.
