Well, it wasn’t a CRAPPY photo, but really it wasn’t much of anything to write home about either.  Crowded background, centered subject, and that blasted window in the back!

(The window was a nightmare throughout a lot of that shoot, either providing a big void of nothingness, or worse yet reflecting the flash back at me).

But this is photodoodle, so I set out to see what I could do.

I cropped the photo to make things a bit more interesting and then converted it to B&W.  From there I just applied the power toner, then added in some dark accents using the “cartoon” filter, then finished it off with a quick “sharpen”.

And last, but by no means least – I did this one in three layers.  The first was the original photo, the second was lasm line art without polychromatic or background at 75% opacity, and the third was a gradient differential to add some color, at around 35% opacity.

I think I will be using Lasm line art more in my future work.  It seems to be a very powerful and versatile tool.

I hope you enjoyed yourThursday threefer!
